Friday! Afternoon!

It’s been a long and unusually mentally taxing week at work. I’m so excited to enjoy the weekend and relax my brain from all the writing and editing I’ve doing of our new marketing materials.

In the meantime, here’s a pretty basic outfit I wore last weekend to the Old Globe’s Summer Shakespeare Festival that we enjoy every year with E’s family. The performances are always fabulous and there is nothing better than theater under the stars.

I wouldn’t have pegged myself as a double-breasted blazer girl, but I like this casual, lightweight summery version from the Lauren Conrad line at Kohls. She usually pairs blazers with flirty floral tops, but here I kept it classic with navy, red and cognac.

Multiple layers and colors were necessary for a very blah-feeling, aren’t-I-done-yet, Friday.

It’s here! And I’m off for a weekend on my own while E is at a men’s retreat for church. The plans consist of shopping, girl’s night, a baby shower, dropping off 4 weeks of dry cleaning, and maybe, just maybe, vacuuming.

I was running a little late so these pictures were taken in the breezeway between house and garage - where you can see the lighting is pretty wonky at 7:30am.

I wore this scarf as a fuzzy alternative to that awesome hat in the inspiration photo. I secretly have my eye on this hat from UO in case we ever move to a cold enough climate where I could wear it. Although SoCal’s been awfully cold at nights this week. I had to break out my Starbucks card to scrape off the layer of frost on my windshield this morning. Kind of nostalgic for Chicago winters (except…not. at all.)

I’m really digging this indigo/red combination (see two days ago). and also the blogger half-tuck.

These red cropped jeans happened to sneak into my shopping cart when I was buying E a new pair of Levi’s for his birthday. They’re LC from Kohls and were on sale for $20. I’ve been drooling over the kelly green UO version for a long time, but I couldn’t pass this deal up.

They are stretchy - so, perfect for wearing during the eatfest this weekend. Happy Thanksgiving!
