I have relatively normal length legs (and a short torso), but for some reason looking at these photos, I’m think the pants (or the heels?) make my legs look stumpy. I always thought nude heels and cropped pants are supposed to make you look 10 feet tall. (they kind of did here: http://lattestyle.tumblr.com/post/7506369243/feeling-european)
have i been deceiving myself?

A few weeks ago i tweeted this sneak peek of my latest thrift store find - here she is!

I was really excited to come across this dress in the thrift store. It’s one of those rare finds - gorgeous cut and patterns, and almost my size! I noticed a large seam rip, but it looked fixable. I got home and found one more and stitched them both up.
But this fabric has no give and is very fragile, so after a few hours of wear I noticed another seam unravel on my side and I spent the rest of the day with my hands awkwardly by my side covering it up. So now I’m not sure what to with this piece. I love the fabric and colors, but it needs some serious repair.
I have no experience in fabric glue for fixing hems and things, but I’m wondering if that would do the trick since the fabric seems to unravel so easily. Any seamstresses/clothing re-fashioners have advice for me?

Experimenting with color has been one of the most fun challenging things in my style journey. If you could have taken a look at my daily outifts from two years go, you would have almost exclusively seen black, gray, white, blue brown and a little bit of teal. If I wore anything resembling a color, I always paired it with excessive neutrals.
It’s hard to tell here, but it you look closely at this (handknit!) scarf, you can see threads of a bright olive color that matches cardigan. I didn’t notice this until I had put them both on, so just consider me a color-matching genius.

This was my Christmas day outfit. E and I opened our gifts for each othe ron Christmas Eve morning - and he did very well. I had mentioned during our our black friday shopping how much I loved my Jackie cardigan from J.Crew and he picked one up in olive.
Then, the biggest surprise….J.Crew MacAllister wedge boots! I had two, much cheaper versions of them on my wishlist, knowing our budget was a little tight. I was SO surprised and excited to find these under the tree. Love, Love, love them.
I paired the two new additions with tights and my thrifted red dress, last seen here, for a christmas outfit that’s festive, but not too in-your-face with the red and green.
I hope you all had a wonderfully merry Christmas and happy new year! I’m looking forward to one more day off work, and then getting back to normal life and blogging!
