top: thrifted, Banana Republic
necklace: market in Malawi
When I was changing out of these clothes after work I caught a glimpe in the mirror and thought that somehow my green sweater had stained the tops of the shoulders, becaused they seemed kind of dark.
Then I looked closer and realized that this shirt was so threadbare, you could see my skin through the tops of the shoulders. So I figured I finally needed to face the music and retire it. Sad day for my closet.
In college it was frequently borrowed by roommates because it is the traveling pants of shirts - it fit everyone perfectly. I wore it to several job interview and school presentations, and to work in my last four jobs.
Wow, I can’t believe i’m getting emotional about a shirt. At any rate, the top will live on - thanks to RIT dye and a necklace tutorial for jersey shirts. I’ll keep you posted, but here is my first attempt at the necklace that I made with a dry-clean only shirt I ruined.

This is another happy thrift store purchase of late, from H & M. I almost didn’t try it on because it’s so bold, but then I did and I loved it.
I loved styling it with the browns for a wild, jungle look, but I’m not sure I’d be able to style it any other way.
Do you guys have suggestions for me? [in other words, I am not creative, please help.]
I thought about wearing whites today, but I’m saving that for another day in the challenge (neutrals with a pop of color). Having a real life photographer for the past 4 outfit posts has made me lazy and these pictures turned out pretty terribly as I was running late.
This was the first day in the challenge that I told myself I needed to look up the challenge the night before and lay something out. This isn’t my most ingenious ensemble, and I kind of feel ‘blah’ about it.
The lighting was good late Sunday morning before church.
These sandals make me feel fierce. See especially exhibits A (above) & B
Necklace was purchased in Malawi, 3 years ago.
Skirt is new (clearanced at $20) from Anthropologie—my best find there yet (for the cost).
