I wore black on black the other day. Then at work I was told I look like Audrey Hepburn as Sabrina or Twiggy (and ashamedly I had to google who that was). While I don’t think I look like either of them - I can only guess the Twiggy comparison must have been made solely on my eyeliner and haircut, because I see no further resemblance at all between she and I - and I have at least 40 pounds on her.
Look at me, channeling old Hollywood sweethearts and 60’s models without even knowing it.

I’m wearing:
top: eShakti
leggings: thrifted
boots: J.Crew*

I’m still not really sure I can get away with this tunic/legging combo. The leggings confuse me because they have a button, zipper and belt loops and they aren’t tight around the ankles. But they’re stretchy. Like stirrup pants, without the stirrups.
I guess you could call them stretch pants.
Pictured with my favorite LC boyfriend blazer (see also)
tunic: Target
Blazer: Lauren Conrad, from Kohls
stretch pants: thrifted
flats: Me Too, from DSW

I *almost* feel bad about posting these pictures from a bright sunny weekend when I know many people in the US had to deal with 30-40 degree temps and maybe even snow!
But this is what nearly-winter looks like in San Diego - a short-sleeved sweater dress and leggings.
sweater dress: Ruche
belt: JCP
jeggings: thrifted
flats: Me Too, from DSW

ya’ll, please meet my new suitcase. Isn’t she a beauty?
I got a Tumi (thanks to all your Twitter suggestions a few months ago). I’m going to post a full review on my regular blog after this month of travel (3 more trips in the next three weeks), so I have some better experience with it on the road.
I couldn’t help posing with her though!
My travel outfit for a work trip to Chicago. I wouldn’t usually wear a blazer on the plane, but I didn’t want to pack it in my suitcase. Red lips brighten up the look, even if they frighten husband.
taken at 7am on my way out to the airport.
I’m trying to be brave and wear them red more often, but they’re also kind of high maintenance. Much harder to pull it off than it looks.
I spent the first, and the last few nights at my parents house in the country. There aren’t a lot of spots to get good photos on my own, so this sidewalk next to the garage had to do.

This outfit really was too warm for the day, but in SoCal, fall comes in by shortening the amount of daytime which is 80 degrees. So despite the chilly morning, by 10am I was sweating.
someone hand me an iced pumpkin spice latte, stat.
my new weekend ritual of curling my hair.
“You’re doing that again?” said the husband. (he thinks 30 minutes of time could be better spent killing Nazi zombies, undoubtedly)
Despite the heat this was worn to study, run errands, and to visit a beautiful new baby. Welcome to the world, Evelyn Jean!

Wore this out to a wine bar in Carlsbad on Thursday where we celebrated a friends engagement, and chatted about weddings, marriage & babies (the bride-to-be’s SIL is pregnant)
