preppy much?
I’m a lady of few words this week. Crazy at work, and I’m gearing up for a lot of travel for the next month. Outfits have been simple and i am t.i.r.e.d. Things I’m kind of loving lately: teal nail polish and doubling up necklaces.

scrunchy
lace tank: Old Navy blazer: Kenneth Cole, thrifted skirt: thrifted tights: Target Boots: Kohl’s? Scrunchy boots, scrunchy skirt, scrunched up blazer sleeves, scrunchy curls. we got to the 8am service on Sunday mornings. Can you tell? My skirt looks like it had been crumpled at the bottom of my closet for days and I can barely keep my eyes open.  I could have accessorized this outfit...

Does this post makes your eyes hurt?
I didn’t realize how crazy this sun glare was until after I took these photos. sorry about that. Thanks to you all for making me feel better about wearing a form-fitting, bright patterned dress for the first time (seen here), and for giving me great ideas on styling it! Here is attempt #2. Lightly inspired by this look, I wore a plain button-up, belted over the dress And - I...

a hint of autumn
This outfit really was too warm for the day, but in SoCal, fall comes in by shortening the amount of daytime which is 80 degrees. So despite the chilly morning, by 10am I was sweating. someone hand me an iced pumpkin spice latte, stat. my new weekend ritual of curling my hair. “You’re doing that again?” said the husband. (he thinks 30 minutes of time could be better spent...

pushing the limits
Technically my work doesn’t have a casual Friday. Unofficially we have casual Fridays in the summer when school is out and there aren’t many people around the office, but the school year is back in full swing. So it was a little risky to wear tight skinny jeans. I felt like a little kid sneaking a cookie walking into the office Friday morning. *blink, blink* Hello? Anyone there?...

transitioning from summer to fall
I am really loving my Glamourai-styled hair and wish I could budget an extra 30 minutes every morning to do this (yes, it really took me that long) Wore this last weekend to a ladies get-together. I love that the colors are fall-ish, but the outfit it still pretty summery. California hasn’t gotten the memo that fall is almost here (notice my ridiculous squinty eyes). This morning the...

I'm back!
Wow, where did last week go? I needed a bit of a break after that 21 day challenge - my closet was feeling a bit winded and needed to catch its breath. What am i wearing? gingam top: Banana Republic outlet skirt: Gap owl necklace: Pink Zone boutique belt: Banana Republic shoes: thrifted  Thanks for your patience! ps. in case you were wondering…these shoes are not comfortable. AT...

Curly (short) hair - Success!
top: Kohls shorts: The Limited Brogues: Steve Madden leaf necklace: Pink Zone boutique  So, I gave it a shot. With a 30-year-old curling iron that was way too small. But I think the curls still came out alright. I liked it enough so that I spent $15 at Target on a real curling iron to try this again to wear in public. (You can find the tutorial I used at The Glamorai) Here’s the before...

Day 21: Work it - Ode to Summer
Day Twenty One! Whew, I made it. [If you’re reading carefully, you may be wondering where Day 20 went. It being a weekend, I only managed to get one snapshot of what I was wearing, with a big pregnant lady, also know as my friend A. You can see that shot here, if you’re curious.  And yes, I wore my Sunday shoes both Saturday and Sunday, thank you very much.] This final outfit...

Day 19: Wear something in your hair
Its difficult to wear things in my hair besides headbands, of which I own none. I rediscovered this hair piece when cleaning out a bathroom drawer…I got it from my great aunt before my wedding. It was the perfect girly accessory to this boy-ish outfit. Wore this out to drinks with a friend who’s getting married and moving to the far-away land of L.A. in three weeks. Mojitos and...

Day 18: Statement Necklace
I am seriously lacking in the statement necklace department. I need to overhaul my jewelry collection soon and exchange my many cheap and boring pieces for an exciting statement piece or two. This is necklace I made at a family reunion last year (it was supposed to be the kids’ craft, but I was all about stealing their fun for my wardrobe’s benefit) This is my really long week...

Day 17: redo something
This might be a little bit of a cheat for the challenge: (find something in your repair file, fix it and wear it). But when I purchased these cropped pants from the thrift store, I didn’t realize they were just shortened regular pants. Once I figured that out, I decided to just let out the hem and wear them as pants. [here they are cropped] (ps. This shirt was a redo from  a few...
